## Description

Noge Street Performance Festival is an annual spring event held in Yokohama’s Noge district, bringing street entertainment and local community life together. It began in spring 1986 at the initiative of local shopkeepers, who sought to revitalize the area through a town-building project. Since then, it has grown into a popular festival, regarded as one of Japan’s three major street performance events.

Each edition features accomplished performers from Japan and overseas, presenting a variety of street performances throughout the neighborhood. Visitors can also explore numerous stalls offering local festival food, making the event an opportunity to enjoy Noge’s distinctive atmosphere as well as its entertainment.

Planning and operations are led primarily by local residents, with support from volunteer staff. The festival’s official website shares news and practical information, including performer announcements, schedules, event updates, and traffic restrictions. It also recognizes the contributions of volunteers and nearby residents, whose cooperation helps make the event possible.
