## Description

Northern Oil and Gas, Inc. (NOG) is a publicly traded energy investment company focused on owning minority interests in oil and natural gas properties rather than operating them directly. It describes itself as the largest publicly traded non-operated energy platform in the United States. NOG acquires, explores, develops, and produces hydrocarbon properties, with investments concentrated in North American basins including the Williston, Uinta, Permian, Appalachian, and Duvernay in Alberta, Canada.

The company participates in drilling opportunities through interests in wells and drilling programs, and provides capital to exploration and production companies. Its portfolio strategy emphasizes diversification across basins and commodities, supported by analysis of operational and performance data from more than 12,500 wells and 100 operators. NOG uses this research to assess potential investments and guide capital allocation.

Its business activities include strategic acquisitions and investments in producing properties and development opportunities. The company also focuses on managing its portfolio, hedging, and growing profits and shareholder returns over time.
