## Description

Noise Free America: A Coalition to Promote Quiet is a nonprofit organization dedicated to reducing noise pollution and helping communities protect their health, productivity, and quality of life. It focuses on sources including boom cars, car alarms, leaf blowers, barking dogs, motorcycles, aircraft, back-up beepers, and loud music. The organization works through public education, community advocacy, policy proposals, and practical resources for people dealing with noise problems.

Its offerings include an “Ask an Expert” service, an online discussion community, a “How to Fight Noise” manual, sample complaint letters, noise ordinances, petitions, and guidance on motor vehicle noise and choosing a quiet residence. Noise Free America also provides a visual guide to illegal motorcycle equipment for law enforcement and promotes a model approach to noise enforcement. Through local chapters, volunteers conduct petition drives, address city councils, host meetings, and engage with police officials. The organization issues a monthly “Noisy Dozen” award highlighting major noise polluters, publishes press releases and articles, and shares information through media, social platforms, and community outreach.
