# No Longer Evil - **Website:** - **Primary alias:** `nolongerevil.com` ## Description No Longer Evil is an innovative project dedicated to revitalizing outdated Nest Generation 1 and 2 thermostats through custom software solutions. Founded by Cody Kociemba, a passionate security researcher and developer, this initiative emerged in response to Google's decision to discontinue support for these devices, effectively rendering them useless. No Longer Evil empowers users to regain control over their hardware by providing the necessary tools to flash custom firmware, eliminating reliance on corporate oversight and preventing forced obsolescence. The project emphasizes open-source principles, encouraging community participation where individuals can fork, modify, and share the software to enhance its capabilities. Located within the collaborative hub of Hack House in Scottsdale, AZ, No Longer Evil not only represents a challenge to corporate control but also champions the right to repair, emphasizing that owners should dictate how their purchased hardware functions. With its commitment to sustainability and innovation, No Longer Evil is a beacon for those seeking to combat planned obsolescence and reduce electronic waste. ## Industries - 🖥 Computers Electronics and Technology - 🖥 Smart Homes and Home Automation _(under Computers Electronics and Technology)_ ## Links - [github](https://github.com/codykociemba) ## Logos & icons - logo _(primary)_ — PNG, SVG — [download](https://cdn.brandfetch.io/idhKIB54Q4/w/820/h/820/theme/dark/logo.png?c=1bxid64Mup7aczewSAYMX&t=1762713432354) ## Colors | Name | Hex | Theme | | --- | --- | --- | | Cerulean | #0d9bdb | accent | | Ebony | #0f172b | dark | | Cerulean | #0ea5e9 | light | --- _Source: _ _See [/llms.txt](/llms.txt) for a full list of agent-readable pages, and [/auth.md](/auth.md) for how agents authenticate._
