## Description

Nonconnah Creek Conservancy is a community-focused organization founded in 2016 to support the natural spaces and resources of Nonconnah Creek and its watershed. Its mission brings together conservation, education, and recreation: the Conservancy advocates for protecting local natural areas, helps people learn about the creek’s natural and cultural resources, and works to improve recreational opportunities for current and future generations.

The organization encourages community members to explore the watershed and take part in citizen science. It highlights iNaturalist as a way to record observations of living things, help identify other users’ findings, and discover the species seen along the creek and elsewhere. The Conservancy also shares news through a newsletter, typically published three to four times a year, and invites both members and guests to participate in community events. Activities include watershed cleanups, which it aims to organize at least quarterly, and one or more field trips each month. Its website provides event information and a Google Calendar to help visitors find opportunities to get involved.
