## Description

NorCal Tennis Czar is a tennis journalism website created by veteran journalist Paul Bauman, who is based in Sacramento and has covered the sport for more than four decades. Its focus is professional, collegiate and junior tennis in Northern California, with reporting that connects local tournaments and players to the wider tennis world. The site features tournament coverage, player profiles, interviews, and first-hand observations from competitions and tennis events. Bauman’s reporting has included candid conversations with notable players, coaches and tennis figures, as well as emerging juniors and college athletes. Stories highlight events such as the region’s ATP Challenger tournaments and the Bank of the West Classic, alongside Northern California players’ achievements on national and international stages. The site also preserves Bauman’s extensive archive, including more than 3,300 posts published over 10½ years. Although Bauman announced his retirement from regular posting in January 2022, he said the website would remain available for readers to explore its past articles.
