## Description

North Otago Rugby, also known as the North Otago Rugby Football Union, is the guardian of rugby across the Waitaki region. Rooted in tradition and driven by community, the organisation brings players, clubs, schools, supporters and partners together to grow the game and encourage lifelong participation. Its vision is to be a leading heartland rugby region, offering accessible, inclusive and positive experiences for all.

The union supports rugby at every level, from junior and youth programmes to secondary school boys’ and girls’ competitions, club grades, women’s rugby and representative teams. Its activities include the Citizens’ Shield, Presidents’ Grade, Age Grade Development and the Heartland programme, alongside coaching development and community initiatives. With eight clubs and 26 schools in its network, North Otago Rugby provides opportunities for new and experienced players alike.

The organisation also shares fixtures, results, news and club information, and offers branded merchandise such as beanies, vests, hoodies, training tees and polo shirts. Through partnerships, events and programmes, it works to keep rugby thriving for generations to come.
