The North East Combined Authority, formed on May 7, 2024, comprises the local authority areas of County Durham, Gateshead, Newcastle, North Tyneside, Northumberland, South Tyneside, and Sunderland. Led by an Elected Mayor and Cabinet, our mission is to unlock the region's full potential by fostering community connections, enhancing skills, and promoting well-being. With a focus on building a fairer, greener, connected, international, and successful North East, we aim to reduce inequalities, promote clean energy, boost productivity, attract investment, and cultivate a thriving economy.

We empower local communities by decentralizing decision-making processes and advocating for the region's interests on national and global platforms. Our collaborative approach, uniting councils, businesses, and community representatives, ensures inclusive governance and effective policy-making.
