## Description

The Northern California Camellia Society is a community organization dedicated to camellias, their cultivation, and the enjoyment of their flowers. Established in 1945, the society welcomes enthusiasts and newcomers interested in learning about these plants and connecting with fellow gardeners. Members and guests can attend monthly meetings on the first Sunday of each month at St. Andrews Oak Room in Pleasant Hill. Meetings offer opportunities to learn about camellia plants and flowers, hear guest speakers, and enjoy refreshments.

The society also organizes an annual camellia show and plant sale, where visitors can explore camellias and see competition results. Camellia plants are offered for sale, and the society provides resources including a camellia library, culture information, newsletters, and past contest results. Its website also features event updates, merchandise, links to partner nurseries and other camellia societies, and information about membership. Prospective members can apply to join, and the society invites visitors to attend a meeting and take part in its friendly community of camellia lovers.
