## Description

Noshiro Tanabata "Lantern Castle in the Sky" (Tenku no Fuyajo) is a vibrant annual festival held in Noshiro City, Japan. Revived in 2013 after a century-long hiatus, this event celebrates local heritage and community spirit. The festival features spectacular lantern floats, including the stunning "Chikasue," which stands at an impressive 24.1 meters, making it one of Japan's tallest lantern structures. Accompanied by other ornate floats, these magnificent creations are paraded through the streets by local residents, showcasing a blend of artistic tradition and communal pride.

Scheduled for August 2 and 3, 2024, Tenku no Fuyajo invites visitors to experience this enchanting celebration firsthand. Attendees can secure reserved front-row seats for optimal views, ensuring an unforgettable immersion into this ancient tradition. The event has garnered national attention, featuring the "Chikasue" in the backdrop of the 2022 NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen. The festival not only highlights local culture but also fosters a sense of togetherness within the community.
