NEP (Nottingham Energy Partnership) is an award-winning independent fuel poverty charity and Home Improvement Agency established in 1998. We are dedicated to improving the condition of cold and damp homes by providing practical energy efficiency improvements. In addition to our charitable work, NEP Energy Service, our trading arm, focuses on making businesses, schools, and public buildings more sustainable.

Our mission is to alleviate fuel poverty and reduce carbon emissions. At NEP, we offer a range of services to achieve our goals. For households, we provide free and subsidised home insulation, boiler repairs and replacements, and energy switching advice.

We prioritize vulnerable households, including residents over 60 years old and families with young children. Furthermore, our comprehensive training programs have educated over 2,500 front-line staff within Nottingham and Nottinghamshire on improving health through warmer homes. Beyond domestic services, NEP manages various projects, including solid wall insulation and solar battery storage schemes.

As a key partner in the EU-funded REMOURBAN Smart Cities project, we actively contribute to the development of sustainable communities. Based in Nottingham, our services extend throughout the county for domestic projects, while our commercial energy survey services cover the entirety of England. Any profit generated from our commercial services is reinvested back into our fuel poverty projects.

NEP has a rich background, starting with its establishment in 1998 as an initiative proposed to Nottingham City Council. Over the years, we have evolved, gaining charitable status and becoming a company limited by guarantee. Our objectives revolve around educating the public about energy efficiency, tackling fuel poverty, preserving the environment, and promoting public health.

We fulfill our objectives through two primary roles. Firstly, we act as a platform for Climate Change limitation partnerships and projects, such as Smart Cities and community-owned solar farms. Secondly, we provide information, advice, and consultancy to developers, community groups, and individuals seeking renewable energy and energy efficiency solutions for their properties.
