## Description

Now Then Magazine is an independent platform that focuses on free, high-quality citizen journalism. Since 2008, it has been celebrating and supporting the unique aspects that make Sheffield great, such as creativity, collaboration, and conscience. The magazine amplifies unheard and marginalized voices while encouraging active citizenship and community participation. Articles, reviews, and interviews are written by local people, ensuring a diverse range of perspectives. Now Then supports the local economy by exclusively working with independent traders, community groups, charities, and local government, avoiding collaborations with chains, corporations, or multinationals. The magazine is committed to systemic change and believes it is necessary to address the social, economic, and political challenges faced by Sheffield and society as a whole. Now Then operates under the IMPRESS Standards Code, ensuring accuracy, attribution, and transparency. They also prioritize removing barriers between readers and their articles by offering free access, relying on donations to sustain their award-winning community journalism. Now Then is part of Opus Independents, a not-for-profit social enterprise that focuses on culture, politics, and the arts to support solutions for social, political, economic, and environmental concerns.
