## Description

NPIMap is an independent provider-data lookup service that brings public information from CMS and HHS together in one profile for each National Provider Identifier (NPI). Users can search by provider name, 10-digit NPI, or CMS Certification Number (CCN) to explore how a U.S. healthcare provider connects to specialties, practice locations, licenses, Medicare enrollment, group practices, hospital affiliations, and disclosed ownership. Each connection is attributed to its government data source, helping users understand where the information comes from.

The platform draws on the NPPES NPI Registry, Medicare enrollment and facility files, Medicare Care Compare, and the National Provider Directory. It organizes providers across specialties and care categories, including primary care, mental health, nursing, dentistry, therapy, hospitals, home care, pharmacies, and medical transport. Users can also browse providers by state or specialty and review information such as facility certifications, ownership links, quality scores, and star ratings when available. NPIMap explains its data sources, file dates, and methodology, and provides a channel for corrections. The service is not affiliated with CMS.
