## Description

The National Rifle Association (NRA) was founded in 1871 by Union veterans Col. William C. Church and Gen. George Wingate with a primary goal to promote and encourage rifle shooting on a scientific basis. Today, the NRA offers a wide range of products and services aimed at competitive shooting events, hunting, self-defense, recreational shooting, safety, education, and training. They also have fundraising initiatives, TV shows, series, press releases, and videos related to shooting sports. The NRA emphasizes gun rights, offers various training programs, and has dedicated series such as "Guns of the Week" and "Friday Feast Sweepstakes." Additionally, the NRA provides information on buying and selling firearms, infographics, and educational resources like the Eddie Eagle GunSafe Program. With a rich history in promoting marksmanship, the NRA continues to play a crucial role in firearm training and legislative advocacy to protect Second Amendment rights.
