## Description

The National Rifle Association (NRA) is America's oldest civil rights organization, dedicated to protecting the rights of gun owners and promoting firearm safety. With over five million members, the NRA is proud to stand alongside history's patriots and safeguard the Second Amendment. Established in 1871 by Union veterans Col. William C. Church and Gen. George Wingate, the NRA's primary objective is to encourage and promote rifle shooting. The association's commitment to marksmanship began with the establishment of Creedmoor, a rifle range on Long Island, in 1872. Since then, the NRA has been an instrumental force in organizing annual matches and improving shooting skills. In addition to advocating for marksmanship, the NRA has prioritized youth programs since 1903. With over one million young participants, the NRA collaborates with organizations like the Boy Scouts of America and 4-H to instill firearm safety and promote shooting sports among the youth. As the NRA continues to grow, it strives to offer valuable resources and benefits to its members. From training programs and competitions to merchandise and expert advice, the NRA remains dedicated to empowering responsible gun enthusiasts and securing the future of shooting sports in America.
