## Description

The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) is Nigeria’s national railway organisation, providing passenger and freight transportation and supporting the movement of people and goods across the country. With a history spanning more than 112 years, it pioneered modern rail transport in Nigeria. Construction began with the Lagos–Ibadan line between 1898 and 1901, and the core network was established by 1964. The railway operates a 1,067 mm Cape-gauge track system.

NRC offers long- and short-distance passenger services, with routes including Abuja–Kaduna, Warri–Itakpe and Lagos–Ibadan. Its passenger trains include standard-class coaches and first-class seating or sleeper options, with air-conditioning and restaurant facilities described for first class.
