## Description

The National Religious Campaign Against Torture (NRCAT) is a faith-based organization that mobilizes people of faith to end torture in U.S. policy, practice, and culture. Its work focuses especially on solitary confinement in prisons and detention facilities, advocating for human rights, restorative alternatives, dignity, and accountability. NRCAT educates and equips congregations and other supporters to take action through public education, policy advocacy, and community organizing. Its initiatives include the National Network of Solitary Survivors, which connects survivors and offers opportunities to share lived experience in support of reform, and campaigns encouraging public officials to support measures such as the End Solitary Confinement Act. The organization also produces educational resources and media, including the documentary Torture in Our Name and the Humans Out of Solitary interview series, which share survivors’ stories and highlight faith communities’ role in change. NRCAT provides ways to get involved, participate in survivor-led advocacy, contact members of Congress, and support its work through donations.
