## Description

The National Society of Autism Professionals (NSAP) is a professional organization built by and for people working across the autism field. It brings together clinicians, educators, therapists, researchers, policymakers, specialists, innovators, entrepreneurs, workplace architects, and advocates who support autistic individuals and their families throughout life. NSAP aims to unite a field it says has often operated in silos, creating a shared professional identity and a coordinated voice.

Its work focuses on two areas: standards and influence. NSAP convenes professionals to develop cross-disciplinary competencies, evidence-grounded guidelines, outcome measurement protocols, and accountability metrics for services and care. It also advocates for Autism Professionals and the people they serve, seeks to influence policy, and works to align payers and systems while shaping workforce expectations. The organization emphasizes ethical, effective, individualized support, transparency, inclusion, and member participation in its governance. It also monitors emerging issues, including advances in technology, and encourages respectful discussion toward shared solutions.
