The Nova Scotia Career Development Association (NSCDA) is a premier not-for-profit organization in Nova Scotia that provides leadership and support to career developers across various sectors. Our mission is to promote effective practices and professional development within the career development community. We strive to make career development a recognized career of choice in Nova Scotia and enhance the recognition of Certified Career Development Practitioners (CCDPs) as professionals.

As an inclusive organization, we offer a range of services and resources to support career developers, including membership benefits, professional development opportunities, conferences and events, and special projects. We also offer certification through our Certified Career Development Practitioner (CCDP) program, which is based on the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). Career developers, also known as CDPs, are experts in assisting individuals with making important life and career decisions.

They can be found working in various settings, such as Nova Scotia Works Centers, and may have different titles like social worker, life coach, school counselor, and youth worker. When career developers become certified, they earn the title of Certified Career Development Practitioner (CCDP).
