## Description

The National University of Public Service’s Institute for National Strategy (NSKI) is a Hungarian research and policy institution established by the Hungarian Government in 2012. It focuses on the future of Hungarians across the Carpathian Basin and worldwide, especially communities living beyond Hungary’s borders. Its work aims to support the preservation of Hungarian identity and culture, strengthen national connections, and help Hungarian communities thrive in their homeland.

The Institute contributes research, professional analysis and strategic recommendations to inform decision-makers and develop approaches to national policy. Its priorities include understanding demographic change, supporting cultural and educational opportunities, and encouraging sustainable economic development that draws on local human and natural resources as well as European Union funding. NSKI also seeks to connect Hungarian communities in the Carpathian Basin with the wider diaspora.

Its public activities include conferences, educational and cultural events, research presentations, and projects such as competitions and heritage-focused programs. The Institute publishes news and provides access to Carpathian Basin statistics, alongside photo and video materials documenting its work and related community initiatives.
