## Description

The NSSF Staff Pension Scheme is a registered defined contribution scheme serving its members with retirement savings, financial planning resources, and post-retirement support. Regulated by Kenya’s Retirement Benefits Authority, the Scheme emphasizes prudent fund management, integrity, innovation, and clear communication. Its standard contributions are 8% of an employee’s salary and a 16% employer contribution, while members can make Additional Voluntary Contributions (AVCs) to grow their savings. The Scheme highlights tax relief on eligible contributions of up to KES 20,000 per month.

Members can use the online self-service portal to check accumulated balances and contribution histories, and download annual statements. The Scheme also provides an interactive pension estimation tool, educational materials, forms, and guidance on benefits and retirement planning. Through its Post-Retirement Medical Fund (PRMF), it offers medical cover for retirees and their spouses. Additional resources include beneficiary nomination documents and the Trust Deed and Rules. The Secretariat supports members from enrollment through retirement, with assistance available by phone, email, and at its Nairobi office.
