## Description

The NTI Index, developed by the Nuclear Threat Initiative (NTI) in collaboration with Economist Impact, serves as a vital global resource for assessing and enhancing nuclear security. Established in 2012, this comprehensive tool evaluates the nuclear security conditions of 175 countries and Taiwan, providing essential rankings across three critical areas: securing weapons-usable materials, supporting global nuclear security efforts, and protecting nuclear facilities from sabotage.

By utilizing publicly available information, the NTI Index generates actionable insights and recommendations for governments, international bodies, and civil society to bolster the safety of nuclear and radiological materials. The methodology behind the rankings integrates extensive research, including legal texts, expert input, and transparency through a data confirmation process with participating nations.

Recognized as a premier assessment in its field, the NTI Index drives awareness of evolving risks and best practices, ensuring a robust approach to safeguarding nuclear capabilities in an ever-changing global environment.
