# Nuclear Suppliers Group - **Website:** - **Primary alias:** `nuclearsuppliersgroup.org` ## Description The Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG) is a coalition of nuclear supplier countries dedicated to preventing the proliferation of nuclear weapons. Through the implementation of comprehensive Guidelines for nuclear exports and related activities, the NSG ensures that transfers do not contribute to nuclear weapons proliferation. These Guidelines include the critical "Non-Proliferation Principle," emphasizing rigorous assessment before authorizing any transfer. Moreover, the NSG Guidelines align with international nuclear non-proliferation treaties like the NPT and regional nuclear-free zone agreements. Each Participating Government (PG) implements the NSG Guidelines according to its national laws, ensuring responsible decision-making on export applications. For in-depth insights into the NSG and its role, you can download the informative document "The Nuclear Suppliers Group: Its Guidelines, Origins, Structure, and Role - INFCIRC/539/Rev.8" from our website. The NSG's mission is symbolized by Michelangelo's design of the Piazza del Campidoglio, reflecting the quest for harmony and order in the complex landscape of nuclear non-proliferation.
