## Description

Nuova Arte 96 is a cultural and recreational association based in Sciacca, Sicily, founded in 1995 by Alessandro Segreto and a group of young enthusiasts. Since its first participation in the Sciacca Carnival in 1996, the association has built more than three decades of experience creating elaborate allegorical floats, with a long-running presence at the festival and participation in other carnivals in Sicily and across Italy. Its papier-mâché works combine visual storytelling with original songs and scripts performed during the carnival parade. The association welcomes people who want to take part in its creative community, particularly during the roughly three-month period spent building a float. Beyond carnival productions, Nuova Arte 96 creates custom pieces from materials including polystyrene, wood and iron for birthdays, traditional celebrations, shop displays and other events. Its portfolio includes works such as Tressette, Regeneration and Vecchio Cinema (in) Paradiso, as well as its 2025 Sciacca Carnival float, Sogna ragazzo sogna (per aspera ad astra).
