## Description

The Nevada Green Business Network (NVGBN) is a coalition of organizations that have come together to offer a statewide green business certification program. We specialize in working with small to medium-sized businesses to provide free assistance and recognize efforts that save energy and water, reduce waste, prevent pollution and stormwater impacts, and encourage better commute options.

Our program offers a checklist of best practices that businesses can implement, and we certify those that meet the minimum thresholds of environmental performance. Once certified, we actively promote green businesses throughout the state. We have also developed an online platform called GreenBizTracker, which makes it easy for businesses to register, track their efforts, and become certified. The platform collects and aggregates data to measure the outcomes of the various practices implemented by certified green businesses, which we use to report on the collective impact they are making on the environment.

The Nevada Green Business Network is a project initiated by environmental nonprofit greenUP! in partnership with Western Nevada College. Funding for the program was provided through grants awarded by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
