## Description

The Nederlandsche Vereeniging van Antiquaren (NVvA) is a prestigious professional organization founded in 1935, representing approximately 60 merchants specializing in rare and antiquarian books, prints, and maps. With a rigorous selection process, NVvA members are chosen based on their expertise, experience, and integrity, ensuring that collectors have access to the highest quality offerings.

The NVvA not only promotes the appreciation of antiquarian literature but also actively supports young bibliophiles through initiatives like a prize for aspiring collectors under 35, incentivizing talent with a €1,000 reward for purchases at the Amsterdam Book Fair. For younger enthusiasts aged 12 to 18, an encouragement prize of €250 is available.

Additionally, the organization champions the preservation of Dutch printed heritage through the newly established Gerard Leeu Fonds, engaging individuals in safeguarding cultural artifacts. The NVvA plays a vital role in celebrating and expanding the antiquarian community, with events like the International League of Antiquarian Booksellers congress and the annual Amsterdam Book Fair.
