## Description

NWCSAF, or the Satellite Application Facility on support to Nowcasting/and Very Short-Range Forecasting (VSRF), was established in 1996 by EUMETSAT and INM. The primary goal of NWCSAF is to provide operational services utilizing meteorological satellite data for Nowcasting and VSRF users. Initially focusing on MSG and PPS systems, NWCSAF has expanded to include other geostationary satellites like GOES and HIMAWARI, with future integration of MTG and EPS-SG series. The ongoing Continuous Development & Operations Phase (CDOP) ensures software development and user support for optimal satellite data utilization. CDOP-4 aims to prepare for upcoming EUMETSAT satellites, emphasizing the generation of new products, collaboration with EPS-SG, and enhancing software capabilities. NWCSAF strives to be a Center of Excellence for Nowcasting, maintaining a commitment to excellence, innovation, and user satisfaction in meteorological forecasting.
