## Description

NWDC Resistance is a grassroots movement led by undocumented individuals, dedicated to ending the detention of immigrants and halting deportations. Operating under the national #Not1More campaign, NWDC Resistance advocates for the rights and humane treatment of those detained at the Northwest Detention Center (NWDC) in Tacoma, Washington. This facility, one of the largest immigration prisons in the U.S., is known for its harsh conditions and limited legal protections for detainees.

The organization actively supports the demands of those imprisoned, who strive for better food, improved medical care, fair wages for labor, and expedited case processing. NWDC Resistance has played a central role in numerous hunger strikes and protests, aiming to raise awareness of the injustices faced by immigrants and calling for the termination of contracts with private prison operators. Through community organizing, educational events, and direct actions, NWDC Resistance seeks to challenge the narratives that dehumanize immigrants and promote solidarity in the fight against an unjust immigration system.
