## Description

North Wales Hang Gliding and Paragliding Club (NWHGPC) is a BHPA-affiliated club for hang glider and paraglider pilots, founded on the Wirral in the early 1970s. Members fly mainly at sites across North Wales, with Thurstaston on the Wirral also available. The club works with local landowners to provide locations for foot-launched, unpowered flying, and its community includes newly qualified pilots and experienced flyers. Visitors and newcomers are welcome.

NWHGPC offers an annual membership for £20, along with a visitor fee for flying at Llangollen. Members use the club forum and messaging apps to coordinate flying, and are invited to regular meetings and club events. Club coaches support both paragliding and hang gliding, offering guidance on joining the club, pilot development, site briefings, equipment and general flying questions. The club does not provide beginner training; aspiring pilots are directed to BHPA-registered schools, including local school YX Paragliding, for instruction and introductory experiences. NWHGPC also shares site information, safety guidance and operational notices to help pilots plan their activities.
