NorthWest Initiative is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to building and sustaining healthy communities in Lansing's grand neighborhoods. Their mission is to strengthen communities through community engagement and mobilization, working to identify needs and develop strategies for positive change. One of their key programs is the Outreach Program, which provides a wide range of services, information, and referrals to individuals in need.

This includes access to healthcare, fresh produce, and housing resources. Another important initiative is the ARRO program (Advocacy, Re-entry, Resources, and Outreach), which aims to support individuals with a criminal record in successfully integrating into the community by connecting them with quality resources. In addition, the Food Systems Project partners with Lansing area schools to offer a school garden-based nutrition education program for elementary-aged students.
