The National Writing Project is a brand focused on advancing writing and the teaching of writing. They are a vast network consisting of teachers, university faculty, researchers, writers, and community educators. Their approach involves investing in teachers and honoring teaching, engaging educators at all levels and in all subjects to deepen their understanding of writing and become leaders in their schools and communities.

The brand operates through a network of local sites housed on college campuses across the nation, with 175 sites currently in operation. These sites prepare 2,500 new teacher-leaders each year who work with 95,000 colleagues annually. This dedicated network of educators strengthens the writing and thinking skills of 6 million students, ranging from pre-K to college, every year.
