Second Harvest Food Bank of NW PA is the largest nonprofit food distribution organization in northwest Pennsylvania. As the sole food bank in the region, it solicits, receives, inventories, stores, and distributes millions of pounds of grocery products annually to numerous nonprofit member agencies across 11 counties. These agencies cater to individuals and families facing various hardships, providing both emergency and non-emergency food programs.

Emergency member agencies include food pantries, soup kitchens, Mobile Food Pantries, Schools Pantries, BackPack Program sites, Kids Cafes, Senior Box sites, and emergency shelters. Additionally, the food bank serves nonprofit organizations that offer social services to low-income individuals, often providing snacks or meals to their clients. Second Harvest Food Bank plays a critical role in serving the community, benefiting unemployed and underemployed workers, the homeless, senior citizens, individuals with disabilities, families in crisis, and children.
