## Description

North West Support Services Inc. (NWSS) is a not-for-profit organisation providing disability support across Tasmania’s North West Region. It receives funding through the Department of Health and Human Services and takes on support contracts from government agencies, including Disability Services, Child Protection Services, the Motor Accident Insurance Board and the Public Trustee. Private individuals can also purchase services directly.

Registered with the National Disability Insurance Scheme, NWSS provides support plan management and direct support. Its services include shared homes for people with high support needs, assistance for people living in their own homes, help to take part in everyday community activities, in-hospital support, transport—including wheelchair-accessible vehicles—and respite care. NWSS is willing to discuss support arrangements, including matching clients with support workers.

Through partnerships with other organisations, NWSS also helps people access sport, recreation and the arts. Its partnership with Wynyard Yacht Club established the Sailability North West Centre, supporting opportunities to enjoy sailing, boating and kayaking.
