## Description

Welcome to the New York Aquarium, a truly captivating experience that has been connecting visitors to the wonders of the ocean since 1896. Located on Coney Island, our 14-acre park is home to over 500 species of marine wildlife, including a magnificent array of sharks and rays. Our commitment to ocean conservation is demonstrated through the field research conducted by our scientists in the waters of New York, right off our shores. From shark and whale tagging to ecological monitoring and the protection of local habitat, our dedicated team ensures the preservation of our precious marine ecosystems. Don't miss our state-of-the-art exhibit, Ocean Wonders: Sharks!, which opened in 2018 after the devastating Hurricane Sandy. This remarkable display features not only a variety of sharks but also rays, turtles, and vibrant schools of fish that inhabit our local waters. Join us at the New York Aquarium, where we bring people closer to nature and inspire a love for marine life. Purchase your tickets online and embark on an unforgettable aquatic adventure.
