## Description

NYC Urban Legends is a history-focused project exploring New York City’s mysteries, forgotten tragedies, colorful characters, and unsung heroes. Its website invites visitors to discover stories connected to locations and events across the city, presenting them as engaging points of interest. Featured topics include Watery Graves, the NYC Disco Civil War, the NYC Rat Man, the Staten Island Ferry Octopus Disaster, the Brooklyn Bridge Elephant Stampede, a purported UFO tugboat abduction, the Ed Koch Wolf Foundation, and the Bulldog Bootleggers of NYC. The site frames these stories with a blend of historical remembrance, unusual incidents, and urban legend, encouraging visitors to browse and learn at their own pace. NYC Urban Legends also offers a gift shop, which it identifies as the source of funding for its projects, and invites supporters to visit the shop and join its mailing list for updates on new work. The website provides home, shop, and contact sections, alongside privacy, terms, and cookie-policy information.
