## Description

NY Save Animals in Veterinary Emergency (NY SAVE) is an organization incorporated in 1998 to help New York pet owners obtain emergency veterinary care when they cannot afford treatment and have exhausted other options. Its mission is to provide financial assistance for urgent care when a pet’s prognosis is good with appropriate treatment. Participating veterinarians support the effort by reducing their usual fees, helping make life-saving care more accessible.

NY SAVE’s Hospital Partnership Program connects pet owners with participating veterinary hospitals and provides a process for applications and case submissions. The organization also offers a Diabetes Fund, along with resources to help pet owners explore financial support. Through its Pet Memorial Program, NY SAVE recognizes pets and offers memorial opportunities for owners and hospitals. Donations help fund care for more animals and support New Yorkers facing financial hardship. Stories featured by the organization describe pets receiving treatment for emergencies including fractures, blockages, kidney and heart conditions, tumors, and other serious illnesses or injuries, illustrating the impact of timely veterinary care.
