The New Zealand Association for Impact Assessment (NZAIA) is a registered charity and professional community that promotes impact assessment in public- and private-sector decision-making. Its work supports the protection of social, cultural and environmental values, while helping practitioners understand the potential consequences of proposed actions, policies, plans, programmes and projects. Impact assessment can address environmental, social, cultural, health, economic, ecological and other effects, including both positive and negative outcomes.

NZAIA serves members and the wider impact assessment community through professional resources, events and knowledge sharing. Its offerings include webinars, conferences, guidance papers and Impact Connector, an online publication featuring articles by academics and practitioners. The association also supports learning and professional development, with its webinars eligible for New Zealand Planning Institute Category 1 continuing professional development points. Members can access discounted attendance at many EIANZ events and IAIA conferences and training symposia. NZAIA collaborates with organisations in New Zealand, Australia and the Pacific to strengthen impact assessment practice and capability, and is affiliated with the Royal Society of New Zealand, EIANZ, SPREP and the International Association for Impact Assessment.
