Its intelligence-based insights and advice support government decisions that contribute to the country’s security and wellbeing. The community’s agencies have distinct roles. The Government Communications Security Bureau (GCSB) leads New Zealand’s signals intelligence work, drawing intelligence from electronic communications, and provides cybersecurity services to New Zealanders. The New Zealand Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS) identifies, assesses and works to mitigate threats to national security, while also offering protective security advice and services to the Government.
