## Description

Southeastern Overeaters Anonymous Region 8, also known as SOAR8, is a regional service body of Overeaters Anonymous, a fellowship for people recovering from compulsive overeating. It serves members across the southeastern United States, the Caribbean Islands, Central America, and South America, including U.S. territories and listed states such as Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. SOAR8 supports local groups and intergroups while helping carry OA’s recovery message to people who may still be suffering.

The fellowship welcomes anyone who wants to stop eating compulsively. Members share experience, strength, and hope, and use OA’s Twelve Steps, Twelve Traditions, and other tools of recovery. There are no membership dues or fees; OA is supported by member contributions and does not accept outside donations. SOAR8 provides information about OA, meeting-finding resources, recovery support, and links to regional and international resources. It also coordinates assemblies, committees, newsletters, reports, and online events, including workshops and retreats. Resources and information are available in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, helping the region serve its diverse communities.
