## Description

Obra de Assistência Social da Freguesia de Sobrosa is a Portuguese social solidarity foundation and Private Institution of Social Solidarity (IPSS), based in Sobrosa, in the municipality of Paredes. Its operating authorization dates to 15 September 1945, and its founding was established through the testament of benefactor Father António Moreira de Meireles, a local parish priest and community leader. Guided by a commitment to inclusion and the protection of vulnerable people, the organization provides social support for children, people with disabilities and older adults. Its services include a residential home, alongside support for older people through ERPI (residential care) and SAD (home support). The organization is also developing new social responses, including Residences for Autonomy and Inclusion, with support from Portugal’s Recovery and Resilience Plan. Recent initiatives include acquiring a vehicle for its home-support service through a green social mobility funding program. The foundation shares information about its social services, projects, activities and ways the community can help, continuing a legacy of care rooted in Sobrosa.
