## Description

Observatoire du Plancton is a French association based in Port-Louis, Brittany, dedicated to helping people discover plankton and aquatic environments. For more than 20 years, it has shared the importance and diversity of the tiny organisms living in water, combining public education with scientific observation and study.

The association offers school activities, nature outings, workshops, conferences and educational sessions for individuals and groups. It also provides training for professionals and welcomes interns and civic-service participants. Its scientific work includes sampling, species monitoring, inventories and analyses, including research related to microplastics. The observatory works with local authorities, territories and other stakeholders committed to ecology and the future of the environment.

Visitors can take part in activities throughout the year, including microscope-based discoveries and nature experiences, while the association’s publications and newsletter share news and accessible information about plankton. Observatoire du Plancton also supports participatory science projects and produces educational resources, including the book Plancton marin, La vie dans une goutte d’eau.
