## Description

The Observatoire des profilages (ODP) is a research and learning community that brings together more than 50 researchers, community and institutional organizations, students, and people with lived experience of profiling. Supported by Canada’s Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council, it examines racial, social, and political profiling across sectors including policing, justice, corrections, youth protection, health and social services, social assistance, and migration. The ODP connects research, community expertise, and public dialogue to improve understanding of profiling and its effects on marginalized populations.

Its work includes research projects, reports, public events, webinars, and educational media. Recent topics include racial profiling in police traffic stops and in Quebec City, the treatment of homelessness through the justice system, deaths in provincial prisons, and housing repossessions. The organization also shares publications by its members, references on profiling, media coverage, and recordings of past events. Through these resources and collaborations, the ODP supports informed discussion and makes research findings accessible to communities, institutions, and the wider public.
