## Description

UMa Astronomy is an astronomy-focused community devoted to observing, research, education, and sharing practical guidance with people interested in the night sky. Its research activities include developing and maintaining meteor-detection systems, calculating meteor radiants and orbits, and searching for asteroids using public archives and images from professional observatories. The group also processes video meteor observations to assess trajectories, speeds, and orbits, and maintains resources such as a meteor database, maps, and heatmaps.

Members and visitors can take part in visual observations of the Sun, Moon, planets, deep-sky objects, comets, and meteor showers. UMa Astronomy supports these activities through regular club events, presentations, and public observing sessions, alongside advice for beginners and more experienced amateur astronomers on choosing and using telescopes and finding technical literature. The organisation is developing an observatory in Hurbanovo and shares updates on its progress. It also operates an automated weather station in Blahová, providing current readings, summaries, and statistics from records collected continuously since 2007.
