## Description

ObsoleteSony is an independently built and maintained archive dedicated to the history of Sony’s portable audio players. It brings together reference material on four major product families: Walkman cassette players, Discman CD players, MiniDisc devices, and Network Walkman digital players. Visitors can explore models, browse rankings and collections, and follow timelines and year-by-year guides spanning products from the late 1970s through later digital music players. The archive also organizes notable milestones, including the first Walkman, early Discman and MiniDisc models, and developments such as NetMD, Hi-MD, and high-resolution Walkman devices. Editorial articles and spotlight collections provide additional ways to discover the products and their evolution. The site offers navigation in multiple languages and includes related sections on PSP and PS Vita, books, and other resources. ObsoleteSony is a historical reference and editorial resource rather than a product shop; it invites visitors who find the archive useful to support its hosting and future improvements.
