## Description

The National Ocean Economics Program (NOEP) focuses on the economic assessment of ocean and coastal resources, providing vital data that informs understanding of marine economies. NOEP offers a comprehensive overview of economic activities related to the ocean, including fisheries, electric power generation, and oil and gas production. Their initiatives encompass the creation of core and extended ocean satellite accounts, enabling a more refined analysis of ocean-related economic impacts.

The program's glossary serves as a crucial resource, defining essential terms used in the research plan to facilitate a deeper comprehension of marine economic value. Core offerings include the assessment of economic welfare derived from coastal environments and the measurement of non-market values through innovative techniques such as contingent valuation and hedonic pricing.

By integrating environmental accounting into national income frameworks, NOEP plays a key role in addressing the economic dimensions of climate change and natural capital, promoting sustainable use of ocean resources for future generations. Explore the wealth of knowledge that NOEP provides to enhance understanding of the ocean's integral role in the economy.
