## Description

**Mapping Ocean Wealth** is an innovative initiative led by The Nature Conservancy that aims to quantify and illustrate the myriad benefits provided by ocean ecosystems. Launched in 2014, this global partnership involves scientists, policymakers, and financial experts working collaboratively to map the ocean's economic, social, and cultural values. The initiative focuses on critical habitats such as coral reefs, mangrove forests, oyster reefs, saltmarshes, and seagrasses, showcasing their roles in carbon storage, coastal protection, and fisheries.

Mapping Ocean Wealth promotes sustainable practices through its resources, including the comprehensive **Atlas of Ocean Wealth**, which serves as an essential tool for marine spatial planning, recreation, and tourism development. This initiative highlights opportunities for mangrove restoration and conservation, linking economic interests with environmental stewardship. By fostering informed investments and decision-making, Mapping Ocean Wealth aims to reshape conservation and development policies for the future of our oceans. Stay connected to their evolving project for the latest insights and developments in ocean health and wealth.
