## Description

OceanWise is an innovative European initiative dedicated to tackling the pervasive issue of marine litter, specifically focusing on expanded polystyrene (EPS) and extruded polystyrene (XPS). With a mission to prevent these materials from polluting our oceans, OceanWise collaborates with a diverse consortium of 12 partners across Portugal, Ireland, France, Spain, and the UK. The project aims to explore sustainable solutions and promote circular economy practices in packaging and construction sectors where EPS/XPS are commonly used.

OceanWise offers a wealth of resources, including workshops, participatory sessions, and reports that highlight the impact of EPS on marine ecosystems and the importance of recycling and finding alternatives. The initiative encourages stakeholder involvement through events like the OCEAN’S CALLING contest, which seeks innovative ideas for better EPS/XPS management. By fostering dialogue and knowledge sharing, OceanWise is at the forefront of developing strategies to create a sustainable future, eliminating these harmful materials from our oceans while promoting cleaner and greener alternatives.
