## Description

The Österreichische Gesellschaft für Familien- und regionalgeschichtliche Forschung (ÖFR) fosters connections across generations through dedicated family and regional historical research. Established to support individuals in uncovering their genealogical roots, ÖFR emphasizes the importance of understanding one's ancestry as a means to appreciate personal and collective histories. The organization provides a variety of services, including educational resources, workshops, and conferences designed for both beginners and experienced researchers.

Members have access to exclusive content, a vibrant community, and tools for family research, including the widely-used genealogical software, Heredis. This program, acclaimed in France and Europe, aids users in documenting their family trees comprehensively. Furthermore, ÖFR collaborates with institutions like the Österreichische Nationalbibliothek to enhance access to historical data, offering free training sessions on research methodologies. Through these initiatives, the ÖFR not only promotes historical research but also cultivates a deeper understanding of Austria's diverse cultural heritage.
