Official Bridge Day is the public information and participation hub for Bridge Day, an annual festival organized by the New River Gorge Bridge Day Commission in Fayette County, West Virginia. Held on the third Saturday in October at the New River Gorge Bridge, the event is known as West Virginia’s largest single-day festival and one of the world’s largest extreme sports events. It gives thousands of spectators the opportunity to walk across the bridge and watch BASE jumpers leap into the gorge, while rappelling teams descend from the bridge’s catwalk and highline riders travel beneath it.
