## Description

Founded in 1943 by artisan César Duarte Ferreira, Oficina de Artesanato César is a family-run craft workshop in Ermesinde, in Portugal’s Valongo municipality. The business began by making traditional percussion instruments, including bombos, drums and tambourines, and added wooden toys in 1946. Today, it continues to produce its goods by hand, preserving traditional methods across generations. Its instruments include bombos, romaria drums, adufes, pandeiretas, reco-recos and timbalões, as well as drum accessories such as natural skins, hoops, belts and beaters. The workshop also makes a wide range of traditional wooden toys, from toy trucks, carts and rocking figures to spinning tops, yo-yos and jump ropes. Customers can explore colour options for selected products and consult the workshop’s catalogue. While demand remains strongest for bombos and drums, its products are sold mainly in Portugal and also reach Spain, the Netherlands and Germany. Oficina de Artesanato César welcomes visitors interested in Portuguese craft traditions and its production methods.
